Malevolent and Beguiling

Silence has swept in,

As a gas in the chambers,

Meant for the extinction of the Jewish race,

But with nothing to look to for distraction,

We all stared into ourselves.

Missing the distinction,

Between ourselves and the ideas of the world.

A feeling of comfort is set on our plates.

The ideals and traditions,

Brought to us in the same likes.

I see the ends,

And the way they are skimmed,

By the eyes of the unwilling,

Nothing could be so blinding.

Misdirection handed to us,

In wrapping paper and a bow.

A gift for coming into this world.

What happened to the vision of my days?

Passed out like condoms in a school?

In attempts to fulfill dreams,

And reward ambitions,

Such a thing for attention,

Digging a hole for so many to fall.

A canvas for the powerful to paint,

Splattering their dreams and our brains,

Envisioning it as their own work of art.

Bush goes ballistic about other countries being evil and dangerous, because they have weapons of mass destruction. But, he insists on building up even a more deadly supply of nuclear arms right here in the US. What do you think? Is killing thousands of innocent civilians okay when you are doing a little government makeover?
What happened to us, people? When did we become such lemmings?
The more people that the government puts in jails, the safer we are told to think we are. The real terrorists are wherever they are, but they aren't living in a country with bars on the windows. We are.
